Tonnau Gallery - Oriel Y Mor
The sea has been a vital force in the life of Pwllheli and Llñn. There was a medieval port here and 200 years ago, Pwllheli was the most important ship-building centre in Wales. In opening a new art gallery in the town, the ‘sea’ offered itself as a natural theme to tie together all the different styles and topics by over fifty artists.
The gallery consists of an exhibiting and purchasing area, coffee bar and framing workshop.
The Horseshoe Pub, Marcross
Superbly atmospheric pub just up the road from the Glamorgan Heritage Coast at Nash Point. Just the place to have a drink and sit by the log fire after a long day shooting on the coast. They also serve delicious home cooked meals.
The owners have kindly let me hang some of my framed prints in the bar.
The Bear Hotel Cowbridge
The Bear has origins as far back as the 12th Century. Probably best known as being the inn where they changed the horses on the mail run from Cardiff to Swansea. During the 18th Century Napoleon’s troops were held in the ‘Bear Pit’ en route to London after a failed invasion at Fishguard!! This famous Coaching Inn is steeped in history. Nowadays, the hotel is famed for it’s fine home cooked food, friendly atmosphere and really good ale.
